Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Investica (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Service. By using Investica, you consent to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

Email address, optional display name, and a securely hashed password.

Payment information

We do not store credit card numbers or banking details. Payments are processed by Stripe; we receive only billing status (active, cancelled, etc.) and a Stripe customer ID.

Usage data

Chat queries, watchlist additions, signals viewed, query counts, and timestamps. This is used to provide the Service, enforce quotas, and improve features.

Technical data

IP address, browser type, and request metadata are logged for security, abuse prevention, and operational diagnostics. Logs are retained for up to 90 days.

Cookies and storage

We use a single authentication token stored in your browser's local storage. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or cross-site analytics.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process subscriptions and manage billing via Stripe
  • Enforce usage quotas and tier entitlements
  • Respond to support requests sent to support@investica.ai
  • Send transactional email (password resets, billing notices)
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to train large language models, and we do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We share limited data with the following processors, only as needed to operate:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
  • OpenAI — chat queries are sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses; per OpenAI's API policy, this data is not used to train their models
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email (password resets)
  • DigitalOcean — server hosting and infrastructure
  • Market data providers (Yahoo Finance, FRED, Finnhub) — only ticker symbols you query are sent; no personal information

4. Public Chat Threads

Free-tier chat threads are visible to other users via the public threads browser. They are listed anonymously (no email or display name shown). Do not include personally identifying information in chat messages if you are on a free plan. Paid-tier chats are private by default.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Chat history is retained per your tier's saved-chat limit. After account deletion, personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Access your account data via the user menu
  • Update your display name in settings
  • Cancel your subscription via the Customer Portal
  • Request account deletion by emailing support@investica.ai
  • Request a copy of your data by emailing support@investica.ai

If you are in the EU/UK, you have additional rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard practices: passwords are hashed with bcrypt, traffic is encrypted in transit via HTTPS, payment data never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

Investica is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from your country.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice when practical.
